announcement:
TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2023) - The USL W League today announced three expansion clubs: Boulder County, Colorado International Soccer Academy or CISA, and Flatirons FC. Those three new clubs will join previously announced Northern Colorado Rain FC to form the Mountain Division. The new division will take the field in the 2024 season.
"Establishing a new division and expanding the league’s footprint is always exciting," said USL Super League and W League President Amanda Vandervort. "The mountain region is known for producing elite athletes and we look forward to providing female players in the region a new platform to showcase their talents.”
Since 2012, CISA – a 501c3 youth soccer organization – has been devoted to promoting physical health and development among youth in Parker, Aurora, and surrounding areas. We strive to make soccer accessible and affordable for all and proudly represent our girls' program on local, regional, and national levels.
“Joining the USL W League for the upcoming 2024 season marks a new and exciting chapter for CISA,” said founder and Academy Director Nelson Pinto. “CISA is dedicated to providing progressive programming for elite players and believes that the USL W League presents a critical opportunity to offer continuity in our player development pathway: Youth - College - Pre-Professional. Having joined League Two in 2021, we experienced first-hand the incredible opportunities the USL offers to build a better soccer community in Colorado – and we're excited to extend those opportunities to all female players in the state.”

How good is the playing level of USLW?
The USLW will be one of the primary feeder systems to the new USL Super League and NWSL, helping prepare players to transition to professional soccer and college. The USL is working with key stakeholders in the women’s game to best prepare our players to reach the next level of competition. The League offers players the opportunity to compete in meaningful games and train/play in professional environments.
Where will training and games be played?
We will be training at Lutheran High School and David Lorenz Soccer fields, and most home games will be played at the Lutheran High School and Echo Park Stadium in Parker, CO, as well.
Where will the players be from on the roster?
Players from all over the world play in USLW, most from US colleges. At CISA, we will recruit players from colleges locally and nationwide, including our CISA academy players and any players from other club in the area that would like to play at this level.
**We will be looking for host families for our players and have more information on that program on our website. If you want to host a player or two, please get in touch with Nelson Pinto.
How many players are on the roster?
Teams can register as many players as they desire, but we aim to have an active roster of 22 players and a game-day roster of 18 players.
What age are the players?
The USL W League is a pre-professional league open to elite youth players, collegiate players, aspiring professionals, and former professionals. The League is focused on developing the next wave of elite talent in the women’s game while respecting players' amateur status to protect collegiate eligibility. The League welcomes participation from domestic and international players.
