COMPETITIVE PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Colorado International Soccer Academy (CISA) competitive program is for players ready to take their personal development to the next level. Our program is lead by an experienced and professional coaching staff. Players will experience an increased volume of soccer in a player-centered, goal-oriented, and competitive environment.
Our CISA teams train regularly 2-3 times a week to improve their technical skills, physical abilities, and tactical understanding of our style of play.
We are looking to fill new teams and or add new players to our existing teams in the competitive levels.

COMPETITIVE TRYOUT PROCESS
Players interested in participating in the CISA competitive program will attend a two-day tryout session. CISA coaches evaluate players to better group players based on ability, skills, and game knowledge through this identification program. The tryouts also allow the club to assess the entire age group and arrange staff needs for the upcoming season/year.
Players are issued a number at registration. As the athletes go through a training progression, our staff evaluate their performance relative to the components of soccer. These include:
Technical Ability - skill proficiency
Technical Speed - ability to execute skill at top speed
Tactical Application - understanding of time and space, movement with and without the ball, field vision, ability to combine with other players, speed of thought, etc.
Physical Attributes - speed, strength on the ball (tackling & shielding ball)
Psychological Dimensions - competitiveness, work ethic, interaction with teammates, coachability.
CISA team coaches will evaluate players to determine the level of play (Competitive or Developmental)
An email will go out with player placement information to parents/guardians with an offer to join a team. Parents are required to accept or decline the offer within 48 hours of receiving it. Parents must agree and pay the registration fees before placement is finalized.

COMPETITIVE PLAYER PLACEMENT PROCESS FORMAT
The Player Placement Process includes activities that are soccer-specific and realistic. While the tryouts sessions vary by year and age group, the following example formats can be helpful for players new to the process. Each player must bring a ball, plenty of water, and dress appropriately (e.g., soccer gear, shin guards, cleats, long socks, etc.). Check-in for this event will take place 30 minutes before each scheduled session.
DAY 1

15 minutes of technical application (First touch, dribbling, passing, receiving and turning, etc.)
5 minutes break
20 minutes of small (3v2) group tactical application possession oriented games
5 minutes break
35 minutes of large (4V4-5V5) group games (this allows us to see if the players can transfer their technical and tactical skills into the big game)
5 minutes cool down - closing
Note: Goalkeepers will work with our goalkeeper coach for the entire session
DAY 2
5 minutes Warm-up & Stretch
15 minutes of technical application (First touch, dribbling, passing, receiving and turning, etc.)

5 minutes cool down - closing
Note: Goalkeepers are integrated with the rest of the field players after the first twenty-five minutes
IMPORTANT: Team offers will be extended at any time during the tryouts. The acceptance window will be limited to 48 hours from receiving the offer. Players will need to register and pay their registration fees to be considered part of the team.
